Yefri Dahrin

Advisory Board at Riak Bumi Foundation.

His educational background is at the Middle School of Civil Engineering in Pontianak. He is a Malay ethnic originating from Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province. Since 1984 he has been a civil servant in the Natural Resources Conservation (KSDA) under the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry. He was a conservation cadre, police ranger, and commander of the forest fire control brigade in the West Kalimantan Operations Area. Has deep experience in government bureaucracy, handling forest fire cases, wildlife trafficking, and forest security, and has expertise in the field of conservation. He has Joined Riak Bumi Foundation since its establishment in 2000.

Valentinus Heri

Founder and Executive Director at Riak Bumi Foundation.

His educational background is a law degree from Tanjungpura University, Pontianak. He is a Dayak Iban from Lanjak, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Previously worked in Wetlands International Indonesia Program from 1995-1997 and then worked at Dian Tama Foundation from 1997-2000. After that, he founded the Riak Bumi Foundation in 2000. He has experience in assisting community groups in conservation areas in developing NTFPs as an alternative income, strengthening customary law in natural resource management, and facilitating multi-stakeholder meetings. He received the Ashoka award in 2009. He has diplomatic skills and an extensive network in various countries.

Fransiska Erlina

Financial Manager at Riak Bumi Foundation.

Her educational background is a Bachelor of Economics at the Panca Bhakti University, Pontianak. She is a Dayak Kanayatn tribe from Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province. Has experience working in a shipping company as an administration from 2005-2008. Having experience and expertise in gender and biodiversity issues. She has experience in finance and reporting on projects to donor agencies. Has the capacity to conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) for the development of small and medium enterprises for the community.

Veronika Heni

Secretary at Riak Bumi Foundation.

Her educational background is a Master's study program in English language education at Tanjungpura University Pontianak. She is a Dayak Serawai tribe from Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Has experience teaching and part-time English lecturer at several universities in Pontianak. Joined Riak Bumi Foundation in 2022. She has experience in project handling related to managing timelines, project targets, and project reports in English, particularly in terms of NTFP business development that pays attention to environmental protection. She is also particularly interested in developing traditional arts and culture.

Hermanto

Product Management Director at Riak Bumi Foundation.

His educational background is at the Academy of Foreign Languages at Widya Dharma Pontianak. Has joined the Riak Bumi Foundation in 2008. He is a Dayak Mualang tribe from Balai Sepuak, Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Has skills in communicating in English. Experiencing as Coordinator of the Indonesian Forest Honey Network from 2012 until now. Has experience in organizing community groups, meetings, and workshops. Has the ability in training to increase the capacity of NTFP products and marketing such as forest honey, and tengkawang.

Denny Onesimus Bakara

Partnership and Cooperation Director at Riak Bumi Foundation.

His educational background is a Diploma in Plantation Product Processing Technology from the Pontianak State Polytechnic (2003) and then continued his study at the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Product Technology, University of Widyagama Malang (2008). He is a mixture of the Dayak Desa and Batak tribe from Meliau, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Had experience in building networks and partnerships with various institutions. Has expertise in surveys of public perceptions regarding the potential of Orangutans and public awareness programs about orangutans. Has the ability to increase community capacity in developing NTFPs and facilitating multi-stakeholder meetings.

Jem Sami

Community Engagement Director at Riak Bumi Foundation.

His educational background is in the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agronomy at Tanjungpura University, Pontianak, 1998. Then he continued the Academy of Corporate Management in the Corporate Management Study Program at Panca Bhakti University Pontianak in 2004. He is a Dayak Iban tribe from Kapar, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Has in-depth experience with the history and culture of the Iban tribe and the local context in the community. Has expertise in facilitating various community and multi-stakeholder meetings. Expertise in surveys of public perceptions regarding the potential of Orangutans and public awareness programs about orangutans.

Nehemia Ngilah

Agroforesty Director at Riak Bumi Foundation.

His educational background is a bachelor's degree in agriculture from the University of Tanjungpura, graduating in 2000. He is a Dayak Iban from Sawah Hamlet, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan Province. He has joined the Riak Bumi Foundation since 2002. Has experience in mapping community areas, and assisting the community as a community organizer, tengkawang survey, reforestation of forest and agricultural plants such as coffee, local fruits, including tengkawang in agroforestry land. He also has experience in facilitation of social forestry schemes, and capacity building in NTFP product development.

Riki Rikando

Data Mapping Director at Riak Bumi Foundation.

His educational background is a Bachelor of Forestry, from Tanjungpura University, Pontianak, graduating in 2018. He is a Dayak Iban tribe from Ngaung Keruh Hamlet, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Experiencing working in the contractor company Lancar Jaya Mitra Abadi from 2012-2013. Joined Riak Bumi Foundation in 2015. Experienced in survey, transect, biophysical, and socio-economic data collection, knowledge in GIS and mapping, forestry plantations, marketing, and administration. He also has experience in writing for environmental advocacy and campaign purposes.

Yenni Kurnia

Cashier at Riak Bumi Foundation.

Her Educational background is a Bachelor of Management at the Indonesian College of Economics Pontianak. She is a Dayak Mualang tribe from Balau Lambing, Sekadau Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Has experience working as a cashier and waiter in 2019-2022. Joined Riak Bumi Foundation in 2022. Has experience in financial management and administration, marketing management, and human resource management. Has experience in forest honey production process and packaging.

Kemeriahan Festival Danau Sentarum 2022

Festival Danau Sentarum 2022 adalah acara tahunan yang menyajikan berbagai kegiatan menarik dan menyenangkan bagi masyarakat Kalimantan Barat. Festival ini diadakan pada tanggal 1-4 Desember 2022 di Lanjak, Kecamatan Batang Lupar, Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, Kalimantan Barat.

Festival Danau Sentarum 2022 menampilkan berbagai kegiatan menarik yang dapat dinikmati oleh semua orang. Mulai dari pertunjukan musik tradisional, pertunjukan tari, perlombaan sampan, pertandingan olahraga tradisional seperti pasak gasing dan menyumpit, kunjungan ke pulau Sepadan serta berbagai acara lainnya.

Festival Danau Sentarum 2022 juga menampilkan berbagai macam acara lainnya, seperti pameran seni dan budaya, pameran produk lokal, pameran kuliner, dan berbagai acara lainnya.

Bahkan pada saat pembukaan diadakan acara minum madu hutan bersama yang dibuka oleh bapak Bupati Kapuas Hulu, Fransiskus Diaan, S.H.

CV Riak Bumi Indonesia juga berkesempatan untuk meramaikan hajatan Festival Danau Sentarum 2022 ini dengan membuka stand pameran yang berisi produk - produk dari komunitas di sekitar Danau Sentarum.

Madu hutan yang sudah diturunkan menjadi 19% kadar air menjadi salah satu favorit di stand. Selain itu produk tengkawang butter maupun yang sudah menjadi produk produk kecantikan juga ikut dipamerkan.

Buku Motif Tikar Dayak Iban juga menjadi salah satu produk yang dibeli oleh tamu-tamu yang datang dari Sarawak.

Semoga ke depan Festival Danau Sentarum berikutnya bisa lebih semarak dan bisa menjadi salah satu event budaya yang bisa menjadi unggulan Kalimantan Barat dan juga selalu menarik untuk diikuti oleh masyarakat.

Istirahat Dalam Damai Pak Itam (Ade Mahadeli)

Pak Itam adalah tim Riak Bumi yang paling senior. Dia dikenal sebagai orang keras dan yang paling bertanggungjawab atas pekerjaannya. Terutama dalam hal tugasnya sebagai bagian transportasi air lapangan. Dia merawat motor bandung, long boat dan fasilitas Riak Bumi seperti menjaga rumahnya sendiri.

Tinggal di sana sendirian, menjaga, menimba air, memindahkan kapal dan perahu kalau angin kencang. Mengangkat mesin tempel yang berat saat digunakan, padahal usianya sudah renta, tapi dia tidak pernah mengeluh dengan tanggungjawabnya.

Pernah kami mengajak dia untuk jalan-jalan. Dia bilang saya tidak mau meninggalkan kapal ini. Belakangan dia sudah mulai banyak lupa, pikun dan sakit-sakitan. Keluarganya memutuskan untuk mengambil dia ke kampung kelahirannya di Belitang, meskipun kami tau dia sangat berat meninggalkan tugasnya.

Beberapa tahun kemudian sesekali kami mendengar kabar beliau kurang sehat dan hari ini dia dikabarkan telah meninggal.

Monitoring Program Pengembangan Tengkawang Di Kapuas Hulu

Benedikt Ibele dari GIZ melakukan kunjungan ke Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu Kalimantan Barat dalam rangka melihat perkembangan beberapa kegiatan GIZ termasuk kegiatan GIZ dengan Riak Bumi dalam hal pengembangan Tengkawang. Benedikt Ibede tiba di Pontianak pada tanggal 19 Oktober 2022 dan langsung berkunjung ke kantor Riak Bumi di Pontianak, setelah itu melanjutkan perjalanan ke Putussibau dan Lanjak.

Dalam kunjungan terkait dengan kegiatan GIZ dengan Riak Bumi, Benedikt bersama dengan rombongan dari GIZ Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, Reinhard Hilliger, Ifran Destianto Imanda, Prisela Gloria Tifani dan Emiliana Febriyani. Sedangkan dari Riak Bumi yaitu Hermanto dan Riki Rikando serta dari Forum Daerah Aliran Sungai Labian Leboyan bapak Anton Hermanto.

Dalam kunjungan tersebut melihat perkembangan penamanan Tengkawang di empat desa yaitu di Desa Labian Ira’ang, Mensiua, Sungai Ajung dan Labian.

Serta melihat proses produksi pengolahan tengkawang dari biji kering menjadi mentega tengkawang di rumah produksi di Dusun Ngaung Keroh Desa Labian.

Tengkawang (Illipe Butter)

Tengkawang butter is a vegetable fat from tropical rain forests which is endemic to the island of Borneo!

Tengkawang is a tree species that belongs to the family Dipterocarpaceae, and the genus Shorea. There are several types of Shorea commonly called tengkawang. Of all the existing types of tengkawang, the most processed and processed to become tengkawang butter is the Tengkawang Tungkul or Shorea stenoptera type with the shape and size of the fruit and seeds being larger than other types of tengkawang.

From the 2017 tengkawang fruit production data, it covers 73 villages in 8 regencies, West Kalimantan Province with an area of about 9,653 km2 managed by 22,644 families or 122,122 people in areas that have tengkawang potential. With a total production in one harvest season of as much as 6,048 tons. From Kapuas Hulu Regency there are 1,893 tons. Riak Bumi facilitated the Labian Village community in Batang Lupar District, Kapuas Hulu Regency with a total of 38,575 kg of dried tengkawang fruit collected in 2014, while for 2019 it was 14,186 kg.

Tengkawang butter can traditionally be consumed directly, usually the Dayak people in Kalimantan use tengkawang butter as a mixture to eat warm rice. In the industrial world, tengkawang butter is used as a substitute for cocoa butter, cosmetic ingredients, pharmaceutical ingredients, margarine, candles and soap. As a cosmetic, tengkawang is used for body, hair and skin care products, namely sun protection, cream, soap, lipstick, lip balm, make-up foundation, and hair conditioner.

Tengkawang has extraordinary moisturizing properties and is able to restore skin elasticity, improve skin pH, and as an effective protective, calming, and anti-wrinkle skin. Tengkawang butter is useful for moisturizing dry skin and lips, reducing wrinkles and delaying premature aging, restoring scars and stretch marks, overcoming sunburned skin, helping to repair damaged skin and rough skin (such as on the feet), and ulcers on the skin. mouth and repair dry hair or hair that is frequently treated with chemicals such as in curling, dyeing or straightening.

Festival Makanan & Budaya Tradisional 2022

Festival Makanan dan Budaya Tradisional 2022, Kebangkitan Makanan Tradisional dan Lokakarya Kebudayaan

Yayasan Riak Bumi Indonesia kembali menggelar Festival Makanan dan Budaya Tradisional 2022, 19 - 23 Agustus 2022 di Lanjak, Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia. Festival tahun ini merupakan festival keempat yang diadakan mulai dari tahun 2014.

Acara Festival ini merupakan kerja sama berbagai pihak mencakup: Yaysan Riak Bumi (tuan rumah) dengan Die Lange Tafel Berlin, People and Plants International (PPI), komunitas Melayu, Dayak, Punan dan Penan, Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), Slow Food Indonesia, Oerip Indonesia/Tenun-Aya, MyTransform (sebuah LSM berbasis di Malaysia) dan pemerintah daerah Kapuas Hulu, Kabupaten Batang Lupar, Balai Besar Taman Nasional Betung Kerihun dan Danau Sentarum (BBTNBKDS).

Makanan tradisional yang bahannya dari hutan telah menjadi bagian dari obyek wisata kuliner dan budaya masyarakat lokal. Festival ini telah membawa pemahaman orang bahwa hutan menyediakan berbagai sumber makanan secara gratis bagi manusia, sehingga hutan dan lingkungan alam sekitar perlu tetap dijaga agar tidak rusak dan tetap memberikan manfaat dengan sebaiknya bagi kehidupan kita.

Festival makanan tradisional berhasil mengubah cara pandang mayarakat bahwa makanan tradisional adalah makanan yang kolot dan kampungan. Tetapi setelah beberapa kali festival makanan tradisional diadakan, menumbuhkan kebanggaan dan percaya diri pada masyarakat untuk menyajikan makanan tradisional dari alam. Tentu saja kontribusi festival makanan tradisional ini telah memberikan nilai tambah dan kreativitas dengan perhatian dalam hal pengumpulan bahan, proses pengolahan, tampilan penyajian yang menarik, kandungan nutrisi yang seimbang, kebersihan dan cita rasa

Kegiatan utama dari festival kali ini adalah kebangkitan makanan tradisional dan lokakarya kebudayaan terkait sejarah maupun cerita lisan dari masyarakat Suku Dayak dan Melayu. Dimana festival kali ini memadukan antara makanan tradisional yang merupakan bagian dari aspek budaya dan promosi bentuk tradisi budaya lainnya seperti seni bertutur, permainan tradisional, peragaan busana, musik dan tari yang merupakan upaya untuk membagi pengetahuan lintas generasi

Adapun peserta dalam acara festival ini ditargetkan sebanyak 250 orang yang terdiri dari:

Lokakarya Sejarah Lisan - Festival Makanan & Budaya Tradisional 2022

Lokakarya sejarah atau cerita lisan anak-anak yang diadakan pada tanggal 19 dan 20 Agustus 2022 merupakan rangkaian acara festival makanan dan budaya tradisional 2022.

Sebelum acara utama festival makanan dan budaya tradisional dimulai, dua hari sebelumnya yaitu 19- 20 Agustus 2002 diadakan lokakarya sejarah lisan menceritakan kisah yang melibatkan sekitar 50 siswa-siswi sekolah suku Melayu dan Dayak.

Artis atau sutradara panggung terkenal yang berbasis di Berlin, yaitu ibu Isabella Mamantis memfasilitasi lokakarya tersebut dengan dibantu oleh teman-teman dari Yayasan Riak Bumi Indonesia. Mengikuti format teatrikal de langetafe atau meja panjang untuk seni dan komunikasi.
